BRPA holds 17 easements west of Highway 12 in the unglaciated South Range where cold water creeks flow through stream gorge habitat important for many threatened plant and animal species. The large tracts of forests are home to a variety of breeding birds who do not reproduce well in fragmented agricultural woodlots.
