Prairie Workday

I love the photo of this poor little table; tasked with holding some of the most important things (snacks and drinks) as well as the less important things (loppers, because we had lots of chainsaws). The loppers needed to stay dry though; they’ll work another day.
This the Van Zelst Pine Barrens property. It is currently owned by the University of Wisconsin Regents.
The objective was to clear a bunch of jack pine that was encroaching on the prairie. We were successful. It is a lovely place and lots of people have worked to make it so.
